Since February 2010, nearly 2,000 students have had the opportunity to enjoy MEMPHIS on Broadway through INSPIRE CHANGE.
INSPIRE CHANGE is a program established to allow students to benefit from an in-classroom educational workshop prior to seeing the show, during which they work with an experienced teaching artist to prepare for their trip. In addition they receive a ticket to MEMPHIS, and enjoy a post show discussion with cast members. This collaboration between MEMPHIS, school teachers, and other youth-focused community organizations provides a comprehensive performance-based experience that enhances academic achievement in several disciplines, from English to American History. Most importantly, MEMPHIS serves as an exciting, interactive tool for school teachers to augment their classroom work and inspire learning.
Donors to INSPIRE CHANGE are invited to join the students at the performance and take part in their post-show discussion with the cast about their experiences with MEMPHIS.
